“Studying and Interpreting Your Repertoire”
Learn how to interpret the music you are studying, and how to implement the expression and artistry into your music! Walk through the process to discover what is written in the music (analyze it), what connections and nuances can be made (interpret it), and how it leads to performance (perform it).
This presentation-workshop has modest individual seated participation. Participants are welcomed to bring their instrument and be ready to perform a short excerpt from a work they are studying to provide examples of putting this process into practice, as time allows. This session is open to all performers and musicians. Best for intermediate to advanced students with some working music theory knowledge.
