Orchestra Clinics, Workshops, and Adjudication

Ms. Cochenet is an avid music educator and provides solid, constructive, and effective techniques to achieve superior quality in ensembles through her unique performer-centered teaching and directing style. Clinics are available for any situation, primarily helpful for special event preparation such as for district and state festivals, festival adjudication, concert performances, tour preparation, building confidence and setting higher standards in rehearsal and performance settings. Clinics are also available for short or long-term workshops, camps, or institutes. These opportunities can be done during normal meeting times or at another pre-determined specified time.

Guest Conducting

Guest conducting is available for virtually any chamber, string, and full orchestral ensemble for individual pieces or partial and full concert programs. Collaborations with ensembles include but are not limited to the following groups: K-12, university, community, pre-professional, semi-professional, professional, and contemporary music. Ms. Cochenet has conducted ensembles in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

Guest Lecturer/Speaking Engagements/Guest or Course Instructor

Ms. Cochenet is an advocate for up and coming organizations and artists, as well as long-standing traditional organizations. Speaking engagements are encouraged for strengthening community and organization bonds and morale, and can be held in practically any environment. They primarily entail one or more of the following ideas: music advocacy; community involvement including significance and support of the arts in the community; string performance, pedagogy, or study; quality teaching and teaching styles; music education through leadership and conducting including rehearsal and score study techniques; recruitment; pre-concert talks; specific research for an organization or event; and more. These events are researched, prepared, and tailored to the needs in the requesting community or organization. Written articles on these topics can also be made available for publication.

Ms. Cochenet may also be available as a visiting, substitute, or regular course instructor on similar topics.

Visiting Artist: Performance-Lectures, Master Classes

Master classes and Performance-Lectures are available for the aspiring performing artist(s) and/or music educator or music educator-in-training. Master classes are geared primarily toward violists and violinists and would also include performance on viola. Performance-Lectures are also with viola and the lectures can be directed toward whatever will suit the needs of the requesting organization. Small ensemble coaching and private lessons on viola or violin are also available.
